The Pyrenees from Coast to Coast

50 stages on the Trans-Pyrenean trail (GR 11)

Marta Viladot y Daniel Calleja Cadierno

From the rugged landscape of the Cap de Creus to the green of the Basque coastline. From the cork oak forests of the Empordà to the spectacular beech woods of Irati. And between them a world of deep blue lakes mirroring the highest peaks of the Pyrenees. The Trans-Pyrenean trail offers a unique adventure. Eight hundred kilometres of grandiose landscapes along the GR 11 long-distance footpath, with the added attraction of branching off to climb the Aneto, Posets, Monte Perdido and Pica d’Estats. This is what the photo-guide you have before you invites you to do. Crossing one valley after another to discover the things you can only find when you make your way one step at a time. The silence of abandoned villages, the scuttle of fleeing marmots and the murmur of the water flowing down from the snow-capped peaks. From one sea to another, to be welcomed by the beam of a lighthouse, with all of the Pyrenees behind you.
